Welcome to RCVS Awards - a recognised awarding organisation of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

Enquiries and appeals

Examinations enquiries

Candidates who have been unsuccessful in an examination can enquire about their result in writing. All enquiries must be received by the RCVS within 28 days of the publication of the results. The investigation is normally concluded within 2 weeks of receipt.

Examination appeals

An examination appeal can be submitted by candidates who feel that an assessment or examination has been unfair. In the case of an appeal against the outcome of an RCVS examination it would be expected that an examination enquiry had also been conducted.

Reasonable adjustments

RCVS Awards recognises that some students may need adaptations made in order that they may have fair access to assessment. This may be because of a physical disability or an educational special need. Applications for reasonable adjustment for either college based assessment or RCVS examinations should be submitted via the centre attended by the student.

Special considerations

Students who have experienced circumstances during an examination or assessment that may have adversely affected their performance may apply for special consideration. If the application is in respect to an RCVS examination notification should be received by the RCVS within 5 working days of sitting the examination.  Circumstances linked to college based examinations should be notified using the guidance provided by the college.
