The practical examination comprises a series of Objectively Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs). Each OSCE station is designed to test the practical skills acquired during training. Candidates rotate around a number of six minute OSCE stations. Examinations are held 4 times a year.
The RCVS Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing will consist of twelve OSCE stations. Students need to pass a minimum of eight stations.
Students enrolled on the veterinary nursing NVQ level 3 will sit an examination consisting of eight OSCE stations. A minimum of 5 stations need to be passed. These examinations will continue to be available until the award run out date, 31st July 2013.
